The red Lion Rampant on the Nova Scotia flag comes from the Coat of Arms of Scotland and dates back to 1621 when Nova Scotia ('New Scotland') was briefly a colony of the Kingdom of Scotland.
More recently this lion was the mascot of the Maritime Mega VI Block Party Event in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia celebrating 25 years of geocaching and commemorating the first geocache in Canada. He holds an ammo can bearing the GC Code of the geocache ('GCBBA') and the name of the geocacher who placed it ('eastriver'). The kilt he wears is the official tartan of Nova Scotia.
The phrase Céad Míle Fáilte (KADE MEE-la FOLL-cha) is gaelic and means "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes".
This tag has an epoxy coating for durability and a travel chain in case he wants to take along some fun SWAG.
